For a complete listing of all these bug fixes and changes, see Tech Note TN-9209-002. The updates are delivered in a new format: as a series of executable files, each of which automatically patches various source or library files. In order for this patching process to work properly, and depending on what you have done with your version 6.00 files since installing them, you may have to do some preparation before installing. Follow the steps below to install your update. 1. Restoring Files If you do not have TCXL 6.01 or PowerPak 2.01, get TN0601.ZIP and follow the instructions to update. If you have made NO changes to any source or header files since installing TCXL 6.01, Power Pak 2.01, or any of the interim updates, skip this step. If you have made ANY changes to any source or header files since you initially installed TCXL 6.01 or Power Pak 2.01, you must restore these files to the original condition of the 6.01/2.01 release. The best way to do this is to simply reinstall 6.01 from scratch. You do NOT need to re-install the individual interim updates. 2. Getting the Update The names of the update file are slightly different depending on whether you obtain the files on disk or download them. If you are downloading the update files, these are the names of the files that you will need: IDC202.ZIP Required for all updates! TX602.ZIP TCXL 6.02 update file. If you downloaded the files, unzip all the files into their respective executable files. Make this your current working directory. � Run UPD202.BAT � Delete all old libraries from the LIB subdirectory (i.e., all TCXL*.LIB, TADV*.LIB, TCMP*.LIB, TFIL*.LIB, TPRN*.LIB, TGRA*.LIB, TOBJ*.LIB and TEDT*.LIB files). � If using the pre-assembled OBJ modules, UNZIP the new OBJ-?? files into your TCXL LIB subdirectory, over-writing the existing ZIP files. See the README.OBJ file in each ZIP for more details. � Use SM to rebuild the libraries. For instructions on setting up and using SM, refer to the section on SM ("Using Programmer's Super-Maint") in the IDC Style Guide. 4. Getting Precompiled Libraries If you would prefer to get the libraries pre-built from IDC on diskette, call our Technical Support Department at 215-443-9611 or FAX 215-443-9753. Each diskette (one per product per compiler version) has a shipping and handling cost of $5.00 for shipments within the United States, or $8.00 for other destinations, and is shipped by first class mail.
